Chuck, you say that you have 96,400 miles on a Savage! That is incredible. Being that the 1, 2 & 3 gears shift fine, I would think that the linkage adjustment must be OK. Do you think that with all those miles, the gearbox indexing mechanism is just simply worn out! How long do light weight motorcycles run without gearbox overhaul??
